Call me crazy: I really enjoy painting babies and young children, and I really enjoy painting pets. And, what are the portraits most likely to be found wanting by the parent/owner? You got it - babies, young children, and pets. The thing is we all have a vision in our head of what our child or pet is like that is very hard for another human to capture. Still, I love to paint them, so paint them I do. Here are a few. If you are interested in portraiture or other commissions, please contact me by email to discuss.

The Incredible Upside-down Laughing Baby
My lifelong childhood friend emailed me a photo of her daughter and first grandchild that just call out to be painted. Of all the baby paintings I've done, this one just flew.

White Dog, White Chair

Lassie, resting on her white towel, on a white pillow, on a white chair was a challenge because of all the white. Can't help it. I love a challenge.

The little Ballerina
The granddaughter of a friend is just the most naturally graceful little ballerina to be seen. She's also a total girly-girl, hence all the pink.
She's painted in acrylic, and her brother is shown below.

Beautiful Baby Boy
This darling child is just as sweet as he looks, and I simply couldn't resist the sweetness that shines from his eyes. He happens to be a brother to the ballerina, and together they grace Mimi's wall and her life.
This was done in acrylic.
